How To Get Rid Of Acne Using Apple Cider Vinegar!

So after exhausting numerous cleaners and not getting the results i wanted, I started looking into natural remedies for acne. I chose to try apple cider vinegar.

Two distinct studies published in Applied Microbiology and Biotechnology and the International Journal of Cosmetic Science argue that acetic acid, lactic acid, citric acid and succinic acids can kill Propionibacterium acnes or P. acnes, the bacteria that cause acne. And all these acids are contained in apple cider vinegar.

Another research released in the Indian Journal of Dermatology, Venereology, and Leprology discovered that individuals who applied a lotion on their faces containing lactic acid experienced a decrease in their acne. The ACV also contains this type of lactic acid.

Apple cider vinegar may assist to reduce the scars left behind after the healing of the acne. In this process, there are many organic compounds that assist. The process is called chemical peeling when you apply acid directly to your face. Chemical peeling suppresses inflammation caused by acne when done with succinic acid. This helps to avoid scarring.

ACV For Acne

ACV Toner For Acne


  • 2 tbsp of organic apple cider vinegar
  • 2 cups of water
  • 1 tsp of aloe vera gel


Mix all the ingredients above and pour the mixture in a spray bottle. Aloe vera gel has anti-inflammatory properties and soothes your skin. Apple cider vinegar’s astringent characteristics destroy the bacteria that cause acne and decrease swelling. This toner can also be used for back acne. It is suitable for all types of skin.

ACV And Baking Soda For Acne


  • 2 tbsp of apple cider vinegar (make sure it’s organic)
  • 3 tbsp of baking soda


Mix the baking soda and apple cider vinegar and stir well. Apply the mask to the area being affected. Leave on for 20 minutes and wash it off afterwards. Follow up with a moisturizing agent.

Baking soda also has anti-inflammatory characteristics, along with apple cider vinegar, which assist to decrease skin inflammation. It exfoliates the skin, unblocks the pores, removes all cells that are dirt and dead, and retains your skin’s pH equilibrium.

ACV Facial Steam


  • 2 cups of water
  • 4 tbsp of apple cider vinegar
  • 2-3 drops of tea tree oil


Add the ACV to the water and heat it. Transfer the liquid to another bowl, then add tea tree oil. Place your face over the bowl and coverĀ  yourself with a towel.

The steam helps to open the pores and remove excess oil and dirt from them. This enables the ACV and the essential oil penetrate and carefully cleanse your skin. For those with oily skin, this remedy is very efficient.

Tips About ACV

It is not advisable to use the normal vinegar for cooking reasons for topical use. Check the label for “organic.” Always buy organic, unfiltered and unpasteurized apple cider vinegar. The organic type has a muddy, grainy brown (mother) sediment and contains enzymes and essential bacteria that are beneficial to the skin.

Going for raw apple cider vinegar is always better. It does not have any artificial flavors and chemicals to make it taste better and it contains all the healthy bacteria. It processes and filters the regular apple cider vinegar, which robs it of its natural goodness.

Never buy apple cider vinegar that comes in a plastic bottle. Plastics contain harmful chemicals that can react with the vinegar. Go for a glass bottle instead.

Make sure that the first trial does not leave the vinegar on for too long. Any allergic reaction to ACV should be excluded. And dilute the vinegar all the time. Never put raw vinegar on your face because it can harm your skin.
